Seward is 127 miles South of Anchorage on the
Kenai Peninsula. The drive goes straight through the
Chugach National Forest, that covers 5.4 million acres, which makes it the second largest National Forest in the US. The Seward Highway is the only route between Anchorage and Seward and it meanders through the mountains. There are many glaciers and lakes on the way as well.

The Alaska Rail Road has train tours that run between the two cities year round. It is a great way to enjoy the scenery. Maybe one day I'll try it out.
