BOB

The BOB or "Bug Out Bag" or "Bail Out Bag" whatever you want to call it. This is gear that I take for a 48-72 hour scenario, be it camping, hiking or getting out of Dodge. Just like the EDC kit, this is what works for me and may not work for you. My BOB, just like all my gear, is constantly changing and getting better. Remember I have my EDC kit with me all the time so this bag would be in addition to all those items.

You might have noticed that almost all of this gear is for me personally. Each member of my family has their own BOB. My wife has a bag for all her personal items and clothes, our son is just a baby but has a diaper bag that has all he needs even our dog has his food and water strapped to his back. I have opted to carry the tent and tarp because my wife will be carrying the baby. Ultimately it's your decision on how you carry, what you carry and who will be carrying. I urge you to include your family in this and make it a family project.
