About Me

I served 6 years in the Air Force, where I obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  I currently work and live on Elemendorf AFB in Alaska with my wife, who is a Senior Airman in the Air Force, and my 5 month old son. We have lived in Alaska for 2 years now and plan on staying for a few more.  I deployed in 2006-2007 and again in 2007-2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  I am an avid outdoorsman that loves to hunt, fish and shoot.  I have lived in Indiana, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, North Dakota and Alaska and have been to 12 Countries.  I assisted in flood control in Indiana and volunteered in New Orleans after Katrina.  I am currently an Emergency Trauma Technichian/First Responder and working on my EMT Certification.  I have participated in several military and civilian survival classes both as a student and an instructor.  Now I'm not one of those guys who thinks the World will end in 2012, nor do I believe zombies will roam the Earth.  I'm not even preparing for a total collapse of society, even though some believe it is a real threat these days.  I prepare for natural disasters home and self defense, as everyone should.  I believe in being prepared and being safe.  I have been through a class 5 hurricane, Hurricane Andrew in 1992, plus a plethora of tornadoes, ice storms, earthquakes, sand storms, blizzards and even a volcanic eruption.  I know first hand that having the ability to rely on yourself makes things much more tolerable in those situations.  I have put together some information that works for me and my family.  The information that I provide is only my opinion and I am, by no means, an expert.  I have spent many years researching and testing these items and they have served me well.
